Community Health Outreach – Bamenda

Project Description:
The Community Health Outreach – Bamenda project focuses on improving access to essential health information, preventive healthcare education, and community-based support for vulnerable and underserved communities. The project encourages healthier practices, early health awareness, and informed decision-making.
Key Activities: Community health awareness sessions, preventive health education, health information campaigns, community engagement, identification of local health needs, and referrals to appropriate health services.
Expected Impact: Better health awareness, stronger preventive health practices, increased community participation, and improved access to appropriate community-based health support.
Akonolinga Community Health & Development Initiative
Location: Akonolinga, Centre Region, Cameroon
Focus Area: Health, Community Development & Empowerment
Status: Planned Expansion Project
This initiative will extend CHASID’s community-based approach to Akonolinga by combining health education, social support, community empowerment, and sustainable community development. Activities will be designed to respond to locally identified needs and strengthen the wellbeing, participation, and resilience of the community.
Key Activities: Health education, disease-prevention campaigns, community consultations, support for vulnerable families, women and youth empowerment, local development activities, and partnership building.
Expected Impact: Healthier, stronger, and more resilient communities with improved access to information, social support, empowerment opportunities, and sustainable development initiatives.
Maternal, Child & Family Wellness Initiative
Location: North-West Region, Cameroon
Focus Area: Maternal & Child Health, Nutrition & Health Education
Status: Proposed Project
Project Description:
The Maternal, Child & Family Wellness Initiative will support mothers, newborns, children, and vulnerable families through community education, preventive health awareness, nutrition guidance, and appropriate community support. It will help families better understand healthy pregnancy, childcare, nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention.
Key Activities: Maternal health education, child health awareness, nutrition education, hygiene promotion, family health sessions, community sensitization, and referral of individuals requiring additional healthcare support.
Expected Impact: Improved maternal and child health awareness, healthier family practices, better nutrition knowledge, stronger preventive care, and greater community awareness of available health support.
